Can you use a quick dissconnect valve (used for cannons filled with compressors) with a bike pump to fill the chamber up instead of a commpressor? (I already have a quick dissconnect valve) Or do I need a Schrader valve (aww man I have to buy one and cut the pipe etc) Because my copper pipe fits my QD valve (so I don't need to thread it/solder) 8)

I have a commpressor put I want my cannon/sniper to be portable.

This might be a stupid question so I only need a answer/suggestions (plz don't flame me)

yes you can. just take the female part of the schrader valve and use a hose and hose clamp to connect it to a quick connect.

it just takes a little imagination.

^^lol putting on a scherader valve isnt hard, buy one at ace for 1.50, tap a hole and wha-la..

the method above will work but u gotta make sure its sealed right or else it will leak at higher pressures.

are you using the rubber schrader valves that you pop in or the metal ones with rubber washers that bolt in?
these will seal better and hold more pressure than the rubber ones.

You can't tap into copper, the walls are too thin by a considerable factor.
The solution I had to use when I absolutely had to do it was to fit one of these into an end cap.

Normally I'd use a tee fitting where the side branch is a threaded connection instead. (No picture right now, sorry.) Much less bother.

I don't know exactly what you mean, but as a general rule, threaded components can be connected to each other, unless they're odd and have reverse threads (ugh!).
If your schrader has a threaded connection, and you have the right fittings in the appropriate sizes, then yes, very probably.

Put both, threads a problem, use jb weld, no soldering just bond.

maybe i missed something but these do not reguire a tap just drill the right size hole.

Oi.... people.

You can get the mate to your quick disconnect with female threads, just thread the schrader into the male portion of the quick connect and you don't have to use hoses, clamps or anything, just teflon tape. Plus, no driling, tapping, or other work.
