QEV filling to chamber and pilot

Ok, i have a 3/4 asco QEV. I was wondering if anyone has put a spring inside one of these valves allowing you to fill into the chamber? Also would it work to fill to the chamber and run a micoline to the pilot and accuate with a pressure handle? I want to hook up a airhose and just be able to load and shoot, constant air source without opening and closing a fill valve. And if i ever get around to it hooking it up to co2.

Ok, i see what your saying. But i have read about it taking a little bit before the valve opens b/c of a large pilot reservoir. I was thinking ok if it opens slowly like that, then would it even open with a airhose hooked up at the pilot without a fill valve(i have see that most people us a schreader and a ball valve)? Know what im saying? I quess its a dumb question, but i have to ask.

Why don't you just have a small(er) firing chamber, and a reserve chamber? Put a check valve in between the two chambers, and tada! (This is if you want a fully portable gun) A QEV should not be reengineered in my opinion. It would probably just make it unreliable, unsafe, and have poor performance. If you don't mind having it hooked up to a compressor, just have one chamber with a quick connect valve threaded into it. Attach the compressor hose and you are good to go.

About the actuating with a pressure handle, that is basically what everyone does. No problem whatsoever.

If you are using pvc, don't use it for too long, as it will get cold, and cold makes pvc brittle.
