Regulator on the tank, or before the meter?

Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

Does it matter where i put the regulator? I have it connected to the propane tank right now but would it be better if i put it right before the meter? I heard that sometimes the propane will eat away at the seals inside the regulator so i was thinking about putting it further away from the tank and putting on before my meter... Check out my latest combustion to see what i'm talking about.

Won't really matter, But most prefer it attached directly to the meter,

Why's that? More comfortable?
