The stupid price of copper pipe

Well so much for the idea of making a nice copper marble gun. I was just quoted like 50 for a meter of 1in and 30 for a meter of 3/4.
This is crap!
Has anyone else had to over come this problem when looking to make a copper gun?

Yes. My local Lowes has 1/2"x10 foot sections for $20!!!
Luckily, they also sell 1, 2, and 3 foot sections, so I'm not entirely killing my budget. I have not yet built a copper gun, but I sure plan to.
Just as soon as I can obtain the funds.

Mmm this definately does suck. I'll get a hold of my mate who works at Reece Plumbing. He gets everything 75% off. I just called him and he said that he can get a meter of 1in copper pipe for 14 bucks.....Thats alot better then 50 bucks!

Where the hell do you live that you can get 1' copper for $4/foot???
12" should be hundreds of dollars/foot. (I assume you meant 1" copper, but I like to rub in glaring errors)
As for 2" copper, I can get 144" of it for $75 at home depot. It's DWV though, only rated for about 400 psi, which isn't good enough for me, except as a barrel, and I have ABS for that.
If copper is that high, why don't you just use 2" steel for a chamber. Dirt cheap, and available everywhere.

I meant one inch. Just a small typo. One foot for $4, if that was so than I'd probably have a bowling ball cannon. And a hole in a few houses, and some weary nieghboors.
