Grib's First Pnuematic Cannon

Hey check it out it;s my first pnuematic cannon. I went with 1 1/2 for everything, including the valve, which was purchased at an Irrigation Specialists in Pasco, WA good people gave me a nice discount on the valve (like $15 bucks was originally 67 or something).

I decided to make the chamber "stockesque" with a 1/4 npt blowgun for the pilot. The barrel is still reg sch 40 cause the 1 1/2 sdr21 blew out of the back of my truck and was too lazy to go get it. After Thanksgiving i'm gonna go get another chuck or rape my combustion for a couple feet.

Oh yeah and dont get on my ass about no primer streaks, it's called clear primer. Oh yeah and everything is epoxied including that nifty little 1/4 npt to scrader valve which i got at ace hardware for 2 bucks. Anyway hope you guys like it.

Clean as, apart from the footsies in the photo. Why the short barrel though, and also what psi does it operate at?
Very nice- Shorten the pilot hose

Edit: That valve looks like the bomb!

that barrel is that short cause it was all i had left and i wanted to shoot it right away and like i said i'm lazy didn't want to go back and get the piece that blew out,
I been running off of my 10 lb co2 tank for my keg system and the regulator only goes up to 50 psi, i did go over to my buddies who's got a compressor and i regulated it down to 70 just cause it's cold outside.
at 70 i can get about 15-20 seconds of hangtime with a red potato. Oh yeah and that valve is a freaking beast i love it though and you'll appreciate it, i can run my co2 regulator down to like 10 psi and i can start to fill the gun and play with the pilot valve and the way that piston and diaphragm vibrate it sounds like a didjeridoo!! rock on mate

That is so cool, you have to pump that sucker up in the summer. Post some damage pics too if you are so kind
Again, nice work. :)

I'm gonna get her up to 120 in the summer and see what i can get I'm going shooting tomorrow and if i get ambitious i'll rape 2 feet of sdr21 from my combustion and go play a round of golf and get some nice pics

looks good, definately shorten the hose though or get rid of it completely. I tested mine with long and short hose just to see the difference and it's noticeable.

It looks very nice, its a clean and simple constructed gun.
The barrel could be longer for more power and well... yeah the hose
Cut it quickly as you might have JSR commit suicide if you dont!

Yes Ive noticed JSR has imeasureable hatred for large pilot volumes, rightly so I reckon

I'm not *that* commited to efficiency  but if you appreciate the benefits of maximising the power potential of your launcher, screw the blowgun directly into the valve, simple as that.

yeah yeah ok here's the deal on the hose, i got it from harbor frieght mainly because central hose and fitting was closed yesterday and i hate hose clamps and barbed fitting, so monday when central is open back up i will go down and have that hose shortened up, oh yeah and i didn't want the blowgun on the valve cause it is easier where the blowgun is positioned right now

I took a look at your cannon, thought: "JSR's going to complain about that long tubing", and was totally right.

Moving on, stunning spudgun.
Not awfully stylish, but any man who proclaims that vital for making ballistic chaos is just odd - still good obviously, although uncritical.

Though far from obvious, this post has two unusual traits marking it out. Who knows what?

NONONO thats not good enough!
If you want efficiency build a small piston valve right ontop of the sprinkler wich will be pilotted by the blowgun -- without a hose.
