One of my guns chamber is pressure rated to 280psi it says it on the pipe
but I just noticed it says DWV on the pipe should I think anything of that.

No, it's rated to 280psi and that's that

It says DWV and 280psi because it can be used for DWV (drain, waste, and vent) as well as pressure applications.

This seems to come up a lot. If a pipe is pressure rated then it is obviously strong enough to use in non pressure rated applications, hence the "DWV" on the side.

Though in NZ (and maybe Aussie) DWV pipe and fittings can't fit into non DWV pipe and fittings or Pressure Rated pipe, so we never have that problem.

We have DWV pipes here that are of a slightly different size, and they do not fit, but they are so thin that no one in their right mind would ever use them. The 4" fittings are no thicker than a 1.5" SDR 21 pipe wall.

We call that down-pipe or spouting, usually found on the outside of houses for gutter drainage.

When I was in America I noticed you guys use pressure rated pipe for everything, even as gutter drainage on buildings, I walked past a construction site and it was all pressure rated sch.40 and 80.

Since we import from Aussie it cost way too much for everyday use of pressure rated pipe with 4" fittings costing the equivalent of $35USD.

Yea here (in America), about 90% of pipe I see is rated for pressure. On occasion I some that isn't,because the ends are flared or just for sewege.

Octane, I think you are referring to pipes with "belled" ends. (Flared ends are for special fittings.) A lot of pipe with belled ends is pressure rated. SDR 21, sch 40 nsf-pw, and a host of other types come with flared ends for connecting long runs without fittings. I have an end piece of 6" pipe with a belled end that is rated to ~200psi.

Yes thats what I was thinking of. They carry it at Home Depot, but like you said it is think stuff (at least what they have is).
