A new type of CO2 regulator?

umm yeah so since i cant exactly reach 200psi with my current co2 regulator, im thinking of getting one of these so that i can do small bursts of 500-700psi and that way, fill my chamber with 200psi using a couple of "shots" of a much higher pressure that is in the section between the ball valves?? would i be able to do this? i dont mind it taking a while to figure out, i just need 200psi. what do you guys think?

I guess it would work, but you'll want an expansion chamber on there maybe to limit using too much liquid (not that you'll siphon a lot). Only real issue is its very temperature dependant, otherwise its a valid idea. You can use either volume or pressure to do the work and the outcome will be the same. Use both high volume and high pressure and then you'll have something scary. Its definitely cheaper than a reg and has no special care like one. Also you can adjust the PSI by letting the pressure in the gauge tube into a larger tube to decompress a little.

If I understand right, you're talking about the black part where the tank screws in to? I was thinking of just getting a paintball tank (either use a a co2 or one of my HPA tanks) and use a simple on/off from a gun I have. The "on/off" is where a tank can screw into, and you use macro line fittings for it.

The screws are for mounting it to the gun, and it has a bleed system so it releases air from the line when you turn it to the off position.
But I was just thinking of making it from paintball stuff I have, as well as some ball valves or something.

Almost like a propane meter... but for co2?
It would work, however 1/4" ball valves are usually rated for 600 psi. 900+ psi from co2 might be asking for trouble.

no no im talking about the brass fitting that connects to the co2 bulk tank to the first ball valve.
