Found this little blighter at work which seems to correspond to the
Gemü model 610, well made bit of kit. The preload on the springs is tremendous, I doubt I'll actually find a use for it but just thought I'd share.

Nice find, wonder why there is two strong springs for such a small valve. Not sure how one would go about moding it.

maybe get a less strong spring and use a 1/8 in ball valve
edit: sorry to get off topic but I just noticed that we have "welcomed" almost 3000 new members in the past 3 months at the most.

That valve could be modded quite nicely imo :O. Have a play around with it, would be great for a compact small bore.

Ya pretty sweet, is there any indication of a preassure rating?

If my eyes read that blury label correctly, it's only a 15mm valve?

15 millimeter = 0.5905511811 inch
hmm who knows, but seeing as JSR has it, he's probably right. but cheers for trying to read it, i didnt even try...

I wasn't replying to your post King_tater, just stating that's it's a small valve.
I think I see DN15 PN5 PVC
Which simply means... Diameter 15mm, Pressure rating 5BAR made from PVC.
5 BAR is about 72.5PSI
So there's your answer King_Tater, 72.5psi it's rated to... I think.

DN15 PN6 PVC - not very useful at only 6 bar eh?

Ah it's a 6, damn my eye sight
I thought it was between 5 and 8, looked closer to 5. Now when looking at it, it's clearly a 6.
I don't think anything rated under 18BAR is much use to you JSR

Why quote it to that accuracy?
Firstly, it's probably only nominally 15mm - the seat diameter could be a mm or more either way.
Secondly, it wasn't made to that accuracy in the first place, nothing can be.
Thirdly, you can't measure to that accuracy, because it won't be a perfect circle of a single diameter.
Finally , the heat expansion or contraction from a change in temperature of just a few degrees oC will make the last 5 or 6 dp completely pointless.
0.6 would have been fine, 0.59 would have been better, 0.591 would have been overkill, but acceptable - what you did was both too much.
Not to get at you, but as a general rule, you should never quote to more significant figures than your original data - one more is acceptable though.
