Hey guys,

I've been trying to make a homemade stirrip pump for a week now. I've tried a few different thanks for the plunger chamber because I just can't find any O-rings to fit the pipe....there either too big or too small.

Anyone know the best solution to this problem?

Well the best solutions would be to 1. Buy a stirrup pump
2. Find the correct sized o'rings 3. Make your own o'rings 4. Make an epoxy piston 5. Make a "flared" piston (like an upside down suction cup).
That's about all i have got for ya mate.

Yes you can, quite successfully too.
Just cut a big one, remove a section and super glue it back together :P

I'm feeling vexed by the way floor pumps either exist at fairly high volume and up to 250psi or miniscule volume and up to 300bar...

Someone needs to invent a popular industrial or home appliance that requires a floor pump that does up to 1000psi at a respectable volume per stroke.

Then it'll be cookies all round :)

What are you using for the chamber? Using 3/4 inch copper(thinner walled) will allow you to find a suitable o-ring.

hey whats the difference between a shock pump and a stirrup anyways?

stirrup is a floor pump, shock pump is a tiny little sucker.

Nothing. A stirrup pump is just scaled up so that you stand on "stirrups". The actual pump design is identical.

Hey lads, sorry for the no reply. I've tried gal pipe, 1/2in poly pipe and 3/4in copper pipe. The copper pipe was the thick walled stuff I think (well I know it was the cheap imported shit from China), it couldn't even fit a 16mm marble in there. I hunted around for a long time but had no luck. Eh this is rather depressing :(
