Valve Help Plz

k now i have read all the how to mod a sprinker valve, and the valve trouble shooting and all that and still cannot seem to figure out what is wrong with my sprinkler valve.

I drilled the hole in the center of the top, and have an adapter, which connects straight to the blowgun. I filled the solenoid with epoxy.

the problem happens when i try to fill the chamber up with air. i can hear air coming out of the barrel side of the valve, slowly, so I will pull the trigger and it will release the rest of the air slowly. But when i try it a second time, the air comes out much faster and does not hold any air in the chamber. I have already taken the diaphragm out and cleaned it and inspected it for little holes or anything with no succes. everything seems to be right, except for it releasing all the air. Event he pressure gauge shows no sign of air building up on the inside.

Any help will be greatly greatly appreciated, and if i cannot fix it i will probably just go buy a ball valve, though i dont want to due to the loss in performance.

are the arrows pointing in the right direction?

i had this problem with mine and i took it apart. there is a small piece of plastic on the diaphragm that plugs up a little hole. take it out and throw it away, that should solve your problem. the piece is white and has lots of little holes in it and it about 1/8'' tall.

Really, my sprinkler has been defective and I've never heard this before. Do I need to plug the hole that is left over?

if a jar top: did you remove the metal tube that the solenoid used to seal against

if screwed on top: make sure the old solenoid exit is plugged you may have not sealed the exit when you sealed the solenoid hole to the out side of the valve body.

The threaded nipple may be sitting on top of the diaphragm, try shortening it a bit.
