I'm going to be building a gun with interchangable barrels, barrel sizes from 2"- 2 1/2"

My question is: will a 2" ball valve out perform a 1"sprinkler valve.

btw- if you can tell me where to get a 2" orbit sprinkler valve, that would be great.

Depends on many things like the gun size, projectile weight, valve opening method, etc.

As for the 2" sprinkler valve I believe Lowes sometimes has them. An irrigation store would almost certainly have them, and eBay usually has them. They may not all have the orbit brand, but most sprinkler valves work almost exactly the same.

a 2" ball valve will have better flow, but it hard to get it to open fast enough and do it consistently unless you spring load it. personaly i prefer using sprinkler valves, you can find where to buy orbit valves from there website.

and there is also the hunter valve wich gives you an optional 90 degree configuration.

2" sprinklers are VERY expensive (60-70 dollars)
Waste of money
You can build 2 or more piston valves + 1" pilots for that money.

Or just put a few more dollars in and buy a mauler. 8)
Sprinklers suck :!:
