two 40" chamber (3"), 84" of 2" barrel, 2"ball valve(brass), two 3" end caps, shrader valve, pressure gaue, 3" pvc T, 2"-3" bell reducer, two 3" elbows,
am I missing anything?

Have you built this or are you planning on building it?
I would say extend the barrel.
I'm not sure if in this case it would be better to have a sprinkler valve or not.

What about the threaded parts for the Ball Valve?

Why are you using a Ball Valve, why not a Sprinkler Valve.

Why do you need to make a topic for everything under the sun?

No, your plans are not good.

maybe you could combine the ball valve with a burst disk you know put a union after the ball valve what is the operating pressure?

If you don't want to build a piston valve I suggest a burst disk for such large diameter barrels.

I wouldn't use a 1" sprinkler valve on anything over 1.5" (golfball) if you want decent performance.

So you could go burst disk, have interchangeable barrels and what not.

But yeah make the barrel longer and work out what valve you want to use, I don't recommend a ball valve.

buying A ball valve that big is a waste of money they cost like 30bucks for a 2in metal one which I am assuming that is.
I piston valve would be Ideal but i am assuming that you are to lazy to do that.
A 2in sprinkler valve would also wok nicely but are expencive.
As other people have sugested a burst disk would work well but once it gets to 2in unions it can get annoying how much foil you consume because they have large surface area wicth means more layers.
I would recomend you buy a mauler valve they are in the same price range as 2in sprinklers but allow more flow and similar opening times.

But if you are willing to go through a lot of aluminum foil use a burst disk valve.

yes, your plans are great. you have to start some where. please use pressure rated pipe. sch40 is just a thickness not a pressure rating. once you get some pipe that is pressure rated, like NSF-PW somewhere on the pipe, pressurize that sucker up to it's limit, don't go over. make sure to use a bike pump and not a compressor. compressors are for lazy, weak people. now give that ball valve a quick twist and watch your tater go flying. now do that ten times and then tell us how great your cannon performed.

i'm really looking forward to hearing the results. make sure you post some damage pics as well. :D

You keep thinking that when you're slaving away over a bikepump and I've already fired 10 shots.lol

At least he's offering the USA's growing obese population a chance to do some exercise while getting some fun out of it ;)

If you want to lose weight and make a profit, buy yourself an air rifle pump and offer a filling service ;)

maxus: i'm guessing your either lazy or you don't understand sarcasm(which would have been due to laziness to understand). now pilgor is going to ask even more questions because no one liked his average plans. way to go genius.

pilgor: just build your cannon with pressure rated parts and figure out what can be improved upon next time. plenty of people have given you a lot of information, now go and use it.
