I finally got time to post my new sniper cannon so here it is



It took about three days to complete because i accidently got a valve with a guide rod and had to remove it. Two days later a leak developed in the valve which took another two days to fix (a leak developed in the epoxy sealing a hole in the valve) it still leaks but it is not serious enough to affect performance. any ideas?

Specs
Barrel: 1/2" by 3.5'
Modded 1" sprinkler valve
Muzzle velocity is between 500-600fps @ 120 psi

I am planning on rifling the barrel and adding sights or a scope to improve accuracy

i will post damage pics as soon as i get some more marbles (I shot them all last night)

I shot a 1/2" piece of scrap wood with a AA battery
the wood shattered and the battery got squashed and leaked so i had to toss it.

I like it.
nice and simple and very clean construction.

Looks really great! Appears to be very ergonomic. But why take all of the time and effort to have a baby to use as a scale? Just use a ruler or something .

The design is great. The only thing that I would do would be to add a paintjob. Before you do so, however, you may want to consider getting some epoxy putty and molding it into that gap between the tee and the elbow leading to the sprinkler valve. I only say this because butted up fittings look really nice, and the epoxy would create the impression that all of the fittings were butted up. Even without the epoxy, a nice paintjob would definitely make this launcher even greater than it is already.

Thats almost exactly what I had in mind for my next gun, except My barrel will be below my chamber, and I will have interchangeable barrels. I can't give up my 20 marble milkcap saboted rounds just yet.

with a kewl onyx black (1st coat silver, then light coat of black) paint job and a laser/red dot sight...you would have yourself one bad ass rifle. :headbang:

I was thinking of putting a $10 walmart scope on it or making my own

i bought one of the 6$ ones from walmart when i was in the states and brought it back to australia there pretty crap ! lol thell do for a spuddy

I gave that plank a suspicious examination on initially seeing a 2" hole clean through it

Found what I expected beside it though. It's fun cracking planks with a spudgun

Most spudguns that size wouldnt be able to crack the plank.
Do you know how many ci the chamber is?
If not could you give me the dimensions of the chamber.

It's not too difficult woo 900 fps Brute force and ignorance always win out.

I do have a slight worry about the position of this launcher's fill valve. If that were to come free - which isn't impossible - then it would presumably shoot back into your face. The chamber endcap would have been a better place, but not much that can be done now.

this is the kind of valve i am using. I dont think it has much chance of blowing out.
