Well I've finally finished my pump. I've only got to hook up a compressor quick connector on the pump and my gun and I'll be all finished. I just used parts that I had and she seems to work beautifully. I've taken her up to 350psi and it was absolutely effortless. I reckon that if I make the staft a bit strong, I could easily take it to 450+ psi.

Cheers for the comments guys, it really means alot . I know it doesn't look as good as Gippedo's (I think thats his name) but eh....you really can't argue with results .

Great work with this build Mitch, who would have thought that higher pressures than a manufactured pump would be so easy to achieve!

Sorry if i have missed this but what cannon/s do you plan to power with this?

I plan to use my 8mm piston bb gun with it and I'll eventually build a copper marble gun (this won't be for a few months) So I'll get myself make myself a burst disk gun pretty shortly and see how she goes .

Anyone who wants to build this pump in Australia, Just gimme a buzz. All parts can be brought from Bunnings and Reece plumbing (or a plumbing shop in general)

Since you can make piston launchers out of materials that can easily take those sort of pressures, definitely! For calibres over 1" you get impressive power from compressor pressures, but as you go lower than that you need nigher pressures to push the envelope. My 6mm launchers were pretty pathetic in the power department before I was aquainted with the joys of shock pumps.

The reason i made this pump was because i like to use large chambers on my guns. the psi drop is a hell of alot less and that means a bit more power. my 8mm was more powerful at 160psi with the large chamber when it was at 300 psi with the small chamber and a shock pump. now ive got a large everything if i get bad results, ill never make another gun related thing...ever anyway enough drunk random babbles from mitcho for this evening....hahaha

This would be perfect to fill a chamber for a 3/4" launcher, you'll have one hell of a marble gun, and I'd definitely look into making an effective suppressor if you have sensitive neighbours.

I want...I want one of those ....please.
I had been toying with a shock pump but it would take me a fair while to pump up the chamber each time and also this looks like fun to make.

well im gonna attempt to try and come up with the parts list after a dozen beers. this will fail terribly.

parts:

-3/4'' compression end cap
-3/4'' compression to male bsp
-1m 1/4'' threaded rod
-21x1/4'' washers (20 for the piston and 1 one the back board for the o-ring to sit against.
-3/8'' or so washer to fit inside the compression to male bsp (grinding down may be required)
-5x1/4'' nuts
medium guage 50mm long spring (as seen in my glueless check valve thread)
-bolt to fit snuggly inside the spring but big enough to fit in the 3/8'' washer
-600mm+ 3/4'' type B copper (chamber)
-200mm 3/4'' type B copper (handle)
-3/4'' m/f/m tee or an all female T depending on how long the spring is
-no' 10 size O-ring
-whatever will fit the bolt that compresses against the washer

Thats about all I can suggest. I couldn't be bothered getting an NPT to BSP converter nipple for the guage to go into the tee, so I used the m/f/m nipple and compression fitting'ed the guage in. At 400psi, it's got no sign of budging. All i can suggest is going to a hardware shop and use the knowledge you have gained by looking at other pumps and mine on spudfiles to find what ya need. thats what i did mate.

Maaaan im wasted. more beer is required. at the moment my drummer and myself are working on our 13th song, we're writing some goooooood shit .

any problems at all (which there will be...) with the parts list, gimme a buzz.

I don't know if this will help but it will give you an idea.

Its great all these homemade pumps are being built, only a few weeks back there was that post "Lack of homemade pumps"

Ill have to get around to finishing mine(also using a floating piston), I've been using HPA bottles since, but pumps are cool.
