Which compressor, Which use.

Recently, I've been searching for a cheap, small compressor that can give my Sprinkler rifle at least 3 shots in semi auto at around 50-70 psi.

Heres my gun:
it has a 26.5 cubic inch chamber(15 inches of 1.5" sch40 pvc pipe)

So far i have narrowed it down to these two compressors:


Both are made by Campbell Hausfeld, first one has 2 gal. tank for $60, 2nd has 1 gal tank for $35. Which one do you think is best for my use?
I am looking for something cheap but has a big enough tank for several uses.

For the extra $25 i would go with the bigger one, however the smaller one would be quite enough for your use i think.

How many semi-powerful shots do you think i could get out of the gallon sized one? Also, do you know anything about the reliability of this company?

I would not have a clue as to the company that makes these, as for the amount of shots, these compressors recharge under a certain pressure, you could get endless shots if it is hooked up to a power supply, if not you will probably get around 3-4 shots at a guess.

i dont think you should get that kind ive has mines only for like 1 month and a half and the motor overheated so i returned it and spent a little more and got a brute 10 gallon 2.5hp air compressor.

Wow thats a good deal only $100 for 10 gal. I'm not sure, i really don't want to spend more than 80. I've been looking at ebay and i might try to bid on one a little cheaper.
Edit: Does anyone else no more about this company? because this price is perfect and i don't feel like spending more than 80.

These are basically the same compressor, just a tank difference. While they will provide your gun with compressed air, they tend to run hot and long and not really last that long. Avoid them unless you just have nothing else. These are mostly for occasional emergency use for flat tires etc.

Try looking for something in the 5 gallon class, low end models go from $120-200. These are designed for light worksite usage and will last much longer...much better investment.

Something I can say I still know...
Don't waste your time with an oiless design for what you're trying to do. Think of it this way: your gun is a pneumatic stapler and you want it to staple as fast as you can run, right ?
Well, I always ran a big gas-operated one for spec developements, but had a couple of contractor dual tank Emglo's set up with an auxillary tank, each to accomodate running a bit longer to keep the compressor from constantly running on jobs where I'd send somebody back to sheet a roof later.
In this application where you're wanting to make a steady air supply(or bb machine gun), it's the same thing, except omit the "chamber" (or keep it), and put a male end behind a one-way valve on your gun. The one-way valve will allow for air still in the chamber should you decide to disconnect for whatever reason, as well as keep your hose from whipping around all over the place should your canon have an accident....I had a loose air hose bust out the back window of a Bronco once!
Anyways, it's similar in nature to the bb auto rifle at the carny; I had one a long time ago but my then so obedient son did,t leave it alone when I wasn't around like I had explained to him in detail why for... another argument against getting stuned stopid...police confiscated it and my truck and tools. I got back the framing stuff,luckily, but...
He and his buddies were at a local park shooting up everything in sight...

Right now it sounds like this compressor is Perfect. Its an oiled design, $90 which is very cheap for such a big comressor, and its not on sale or gona run out any time soon.

Pawnshop. go to a pawnshop or three, they usually have really good deals...in fact try to go to one that deals more with tools, like here we have "Doughboy.s Tool and Pawn" where they deal exclusively in tools of ALL kinds; new and used , and take for pawn.,,,

Where i live we really don't have pawn shops but i did find a
NEW Craftsman 3 Gal. Air Compressor, its direct drive oil lubricated! Id much rather have this, its on bid at $.99, i hope not many people like compressors.

compressors are, like, a really sought after commodity, dude! There are so many different types and styles, it's almost like checking out babe's...usually you only get one, but if you could you'd have more than one... 8)
It's interesting that where you live you don't really have pawnshops but you can buy a Craftsman air compressor? where might that be?
