thought to cut a potato in half ( reduce the mass ), cut around the tip to form some primitive nose-cone like you would see on some cruise missile ( streamline it ) and rifle it ( i dont know, make it more accurate? ) and these did manage to slightly improve performance.I was surfing around the intertubes one day and found a really interesting story. I don't know if it's true, but apparently this man made 7 basic combustion cannons, arranged them in a circle and fastened them together. He then made a crude mount out of two-by-fours and mounted the whole contraption to the back of a pickup. Then, using a spark plug hooked up to his car's distributer made a crank that could make what some would call a "Gattling Gun". Obviously this would have incredible destruction power but a long reload rate. I was just wondering about the logistics involved in the construction of such a device.
I was on a tangent and started researching spud guns and ended up here. I started reading and heard about Hybrid cannons, breaking the sound barrier, and all sorts of stuff the is apparently common knowledge within groups of experianced cannoneers like yourselves.
The internet ( aside from this community ) wasnt much help, hurling scientific goolah all over my face, so i was wondering if some kind-hearted noob-lover could give the lowdown on advanced stuff. I really would appreciate it, thanks.
