I was getting bored over the holidays so I gave the <A HREF="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... 28">SGP</a> a little make over

The main setup:

Barrel: 1400mmx15mm paintball barrel
Chamber: 1.5"x12" and ~1"x12"
Valve: 3/4" Quick Exhaust Valve
Pilot Valve: 1/4" ball valve
Fill Valve: Same 1/4" ball valve
Operating Pressure: 80-115psi (150psi when I make a pump)
Ammo: .68 paintballs

The other variation, is more of a BtB tribute sawn-off style (without the high pressure )

I don't have any damage pictures but I did do a few test shots.
At 90psi with the long barrel, paintballs go through one side of my mini-fridge. With the short barrel at 90psi, the mouseballs also go straight through.

Just thought of a name: Slim Biggin's

Oh and yeah she's not very pretty, got no spraypaint to paint the pilot setup and the teflon tape on the chamber is a few months old and has yellowed

Anyway, here she is:

The paintballs were denting my fence pretty badly too, some cracking the otherside. I've actually got the gun in my lap as I type now, I love the look and feel of the 'sawn-off' setup

Wow, that has got to be the ugliest gun you have made yet Still, it more than makes up for it in power. Double thumbs up!

I'm thinking of painting it, the whole pilot volume setup is old parts that have been painted and then scratched over so they look like sh|t.

The sawed off look s really starting to appeal. Nice job Mr. C

thats a really neat gun. tis a shame its used at such pressures, with most everything being rated as much higher.

Yeah I know, i'd take it up to 200psi, doesn't bother me even though the QEV has only a 150psi rating.

Hehe that is one incredibly ugly gun.

But its not the looks that count... Its the carnage, and that thing is a beast.

Just go all-metal

Eehmm..The sawed-off style requires a reservoir as snug under the barrel as possible ( use an elbow wich threads right into the valve)
Some trimming might be needed.

But absolute essential is the ballvalve trigger and bend as handle.

Other than that it does seem like a very nice gun to play around with.
Just not something I would compare to the sawed-off when it comes to looks.

Coming to think of it, I have seen a lot of "copies" that did not even look like it.
Not that that's a bad thing though.

Thanks. And because copper is expensive and hard to get. Well not hard to get, I just have to go for a drive for 40minutes so I can get an off-cut of 1m.

Yeah I was thinking about that, but nothing threads all the way into a QEV. It was really bugging me, I tried a bunch of fittings too.

I actually had a spare 1" sprinkler valve piloting it at one stage
Definitely not, it is bloody ugly and fittings aren't exactly snug like on your sawn-offs. And your Sawn-offs have piston valves, which I'm tempted to put on this. And use the QEV for something else. So once I make a pump, I can go high pressure. Tempted.

Well it's not like I set out to copy your design or anything, just rotating the chamber 180 from it's last design, ended up like a sawn-off because of the short length, and everyone knows sawn-offs are automatically directed at you
