G'day guys. I feel like making a simple marble gun just for a bit of fun. I wanna make something that feels somewhat realistic so I'm gonna go with a the gun that was made by Burnt Latke back a hell of a long time ago.

I've never really had a look into many sprinker valve brands but as far as flow goes, who is some of ya better makers and brands?

I could make that style with a hell of alot of trouble to use a piston valve but eehhh.....is it worth it?

what about making a gun with a QEV?

Then you would have it looks something like this
EDIT: Damn, stupid posting skewed my lovely drawing

well not exactly, but you get the idea- barrel-->QEV-->90 degree elbow--> chamber.

a QEV operates quicker than a sprinkler valve

In Australia, QEV's are extremely hard to get and pretty damn expensive. I've been after a QEV for a hell of a long time :(

that sucks...

wellp in that case, i would say it depends on what pressure you want to run at.

sprinklers can only handle 150 psi i believe

Well as far as noise goes and power, a marble from a sprinker valve at 150psi does so some pretty good damage. but having a 8mm bb gun that I built to opperate at 400psi, 150 seems pretty weak...

lol... well... if i were you i'd just go with a simple piston, maybe even a toolies style valve to allow breech loading with minimal dead space
