Hey guys. i was kinda looking around and i found this,

http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/question649.htm

its the basic operation of a bb gun. i guess it falls under the hammer valve category. i thought it was kinda neat and was worth posting. i dont know if this is helpful to anyone.

it looks simple, but i think it would take a lot of work to build with basic hand tools, which i am limited to.

Thanks for the link. :) It says it's a pump action paintball gun.

Hmm, bolt action repeater firing "something" on unregged CO2?

The hardest part would be drilling the hole for the pin which the sear pivots on.

i think it would be harder to make the sear...

Nope. That could be cut from flat stock with a hacksaw, and filed to final shape.

Drilling a hole cross wise on a round bar, especially closer to the "side" is tricky. The easiest way is to mill a flat into the edge of the bar, and then drill.

Not a big deal if you have the "right" tool for the job (vertical mill), but damn difficult if you don't. :(

i dont think is has to be round... everything could be square. i was thinking that if i built it i would use wood. i dont have any metal working tools that are practical to use.

I'm not sure that wood would ( :) ) have enough mass to make an effective hammer.

Square stock might be made to work, you never know until you try. :)

Steel embedded epoxy castings might also be worth a thought or two.
