Hi to all and thanks for such an informitave site. I have been a lurker for the last few days now and I finally got my cannon finished up. I wanted to show a picture of it. It is just a basic t-shirt cannon. 3" x 20" barrell and chamber with a 3/4" orbit sprinkler valve. I'm not real sure if it is 100% correct, but it does fire approx 35-45 yards @55psi. at any rate I'm real happy with it and I wanted to say thanks for a great site.
BTW: I have now installed a 115psi relief valve where the pipe plug is shown.
Any comments are appreciated
Thanks
Dusty

the valve is a little small for the bore, but its allright for a first build

and nice to see saftey is a concern as you installed a pop-off.
whay pressure do you plan on using it up to,i guess 100psi?

Its quite a decent build for a first one.

That valve is REALLY limiting flow and thus power, so for more power, use a larger diameter valve next time. (At least the same diameter valve as barrel for the best performance)

How do I go about a 3" valve? Just curious

3" Sprinkler valve? Check eBay every now and then and any local irrigation stores. You can get them online but they'll cost a lot. Some people even find them at dumps and recycle centres for only a few dollars.
