Venting Question (Valve Size)

Hello All, I'm working on a new combustion and I was wondering if the ball valve I have selected will be adequate for venting. The chamber is 4" clear PVC and it is a 1" valve. The port on the front of the chamber is 2". Should I upgrade to a larger valve or will this one work?

I am sure it will be fine, are you using a fan to help vent it? Of course you know that a 2" would be better and look cooler.

Yes, I plan on using an 80mm LED fan @ 27CFM. I have a spray&pray with a 1.5" ball valve on the back of it to enable faster fueling. However, the valve handle tends to jab me in the side when I am holding the gun which is why I wanted to go with a smaller valve on this one. It's going to be propane injected, so the valve won't have to facilitate a conical aerosol spray.

it should be fine. Also, the statement that the 2" would look cooler is debatable, i would go with the 1" considering that 2" pvc ball valves require a personal chuck norris to open.

a 1" will work, just will take longer because it will restrict flow.

eh, you can grease up a 2" PVC valve and they aren't too bad

Thanks guys. I think I'll stick with the 1". If I find that it's restricting flow too much, it's not hard to modify another threaded cap with a larger valve.
