hello I found this video on you tube. It is in french and I can only understand about 25% of what he is actually saying. If any body is fluent in french and they could translate this video it might be helpful to some one.

I'm not fluent... but you can pretty much understand it from the vid...
its not really a QEV as in an industrial one... its better described as a normal piston valve.

that's what I thought, but is it a barrel seal? I have not seen one like this.

I think someone asked the same question a while ago, and if I remember correctly, it would be difficult to make it using the same parts since they are all french parts.

A quick exhaust valve will always be a commercial valve for cylinder dumping to me...
Anything home made I file under piston or diaphragm valve.
...and that is a standard barrel sealing piston valve.
It's put together in the style of a "european" piston QEV in which there is a very thin piston and the barrel port has an intruding length of pipe which goes in well past the middle chamber port for the piston to seal on.
1) an equal threaded T with one male end and a female mid and other end
2) one nipple to go in the female end of the T with a pipe soldered/epoxied inside
3) a sprung piston to seal on the pipe from the male end of the T
4) a male/female adapter with some washers to give the piston spring something to push on.
