Here is the basic image: Image

I want to wire it into a handle such as,

IMG borrowed from: Cosmic Muffin

Anyways, I believe its a push button normally open, I did take some electronics courses in high school, but majority of what I've learned has been forgotten. I'd like to run the wires up through the handle for ergonomically reasons

theres a fair chance im wrong, but the one on cosmic muffin's gun looks like a piezoelectric one painted black. that one of those red clickey ones, and those are alot eaiser to use, if not as powerful

Ya, I know it's a piezo one, I'm just not a fan of them anyways I figured out the rewiring. Thanks for the response.

You'll want to run the low voltage wires inside the unit that connects the "ignite" switch up through the handle....not the leads carrying the HV spark voltage. That means tearing open the case, getting access to the switch and extending those wires.

If you can somehow fit the switch that came on the ignitor, great. If not, you can easily replace it with a momentary switch of your choice.
