2" Piston How-To

While I am aware that there have been many launchers to use a 2" barrel sealing piston valve, and I am also aware that the most commonly used method to do so is to use a 1 1/4" coupling, I have yet to find a how-to on doing so.

Since this is one of the most commonly built types of valves on Spudfiles, I figured I would go ahead and put together a how-to on building one. This particular piston has a simple built-in check valve and o-ring, has a "soft seal" face, and can be constructed using common tools by nearly anyone.

I personally, have built several of these particular pistons and have never had any bad luck with any of them.

Enjoy.

Great how to, I love the piston design, I think I'm gonna build one and put it in my 2" valve. Thanks!

I've added a little more detail and some more techniques into this book.

I haven't built one of these in a while and I pulled it out to double-check everything over the weekend. The new o-ring size (3/16") has been changed. Sorry for any inconveniences.
