I wonder if twisting Teflon tape into a cord would also work?

Have you tried Loctite 55?

Someone mentioned before that it works great. It's basically a dental floss PTFE tape.

I believe that it is more than just PTFE tape.

One way to test is to twist PTFE tape into dental floss and use it like shown in the video.

yep it works...

if you are lucky you can apply PTFE tape once and it will stay in place so when you unscrew it you wouldn't have to apply it again to make a new joint

you can also collect the remaining PTFE tape and form a kind of cord with it...

also I've noticed that adding a bit of oil helps to form a good seal

It seems to me that the biggest advantage of loctite 55 is the fact that it easier to apply it than PTFE tape... (in other words it's less likely that you f### something up)

What's so hard about using PTFE tape? Seriously?

I am not saying it's hard... but I recall quite a lot of 'help.. my gun leaks!!' threads here

That's usually an issue of just not using enough, not an issue I see this stuff solving...
