Burst pressure of aluminum pipe
Does anyone know the burst pressure of 1.5" sch40 6061-t6 aluminum pipe? Would it be able to withstand 2500psi (upon ignition of a hybrid mix)? Steel pipe I know can withstand up to 8000psi before it bursts (not continuously, of course)

ROUGH calculation....
stress = load / area
= Pressure * diameter / (2*wall thickness)
= Pressure * 1.61 / (2*0.145) = 5.55 * Pressure
6061-T6 yield stress is on the order of 40,000 psi. So...
40,000 / 5.5 = pressure.
So... burst pressure with no other effects? About 7,200 psi.
Realistically? I wouldn't push it past about 700 psi.
