2 stage trigger semi-auto

This is just an idea

What if we would be using a two stage trigger to shoot semi-auto ?

i.e.

co2 airtank----co2 regulator----solenoid valve----firing air chamber----valve----(ammo loading device)

To make semi auto :

first light press of the trigger = solenoid shuts off
Trigger fully triggered = valve opens
Trigger realeased = solenoid re-opens

Just a quick question/quick answer :
(i dont have unzip for ggdt)

How much shots would i get at 300 fps with a paintball with regular barrel with a 160 psi air filled 20oz co2 tank with the maximum efficiency? Just approx to see if its worth it.

you don't need two valves.. you could use a solenoid 3 way valve directly as the main valve... just attach your air source to one port, the chamber to the second one and the third port is where you attach the barrel...

the gun would fire once the valve opens (or once it closes - depending on whether it's a NO, NC or both valve and how you connected all the parts)

my guess is that vast majority of 1/4" porting valves should offer flow good enough for BBs...

from time to time you can find some dirt cheap 1/4" 3/8" and 1/2" spool valves on ebay

Some sort of spring loaded QEV with a blowgun trigger could also work, it would open when the trigger is pressed, as soon as it is released the spring would reseal the valve and you can cycle again.

Could you not just skip the solenoid valve and do the same thing much easier? With a small chamber, it would fill faster than you could pull the trigger.
