Harpoon Gun and shotgun

This is my newest and most exotic spudgun. It was primarily a harpoon gun but i need some very high poundage line, 15 pounds just doesnt do it! so i started to fire marbles out of it and holy crap does it pack a punch. this thing is sooooo powerfull, i have yet to post damage pics but basically it can rip apart a full deoderant can from 25 feet. Which in my opinion is fairly powerfull.I have tried the harpoon without line succesfully and is surprisingly accurate. I can pierce a coke can from 15-25 feet most times, with a stand.
I am still working on a sight and some sort of trigger machanism for the ballvalve. The ballvalve works amazing though and is very smooth.
Post any sugestions please.

Wow you took the idea right out of my head, I was planning to build a harpoon gun myself. What diameter pipe did you use?

Are you a rag head or what ? what's up with the face masking? Are Spud guns billegal there? Did you do something wrong and you don't want people to know you chop heads off or something?
Cool design on the gun,though.
I've been toying with using arrow fletching on dowel rods, myself.breach load.lay them over in a spiral...yikes!! car doors and windshields in friends' junkyard...

you could make the barrel a bit longer.

Because of it's little chambe volume, you can make a coke bottle quik charging tank.

I don't see why people even use bottles for air chambers. Is it really that hard to make one out of PVC? Just a cap, bell reducer, male adapter, and some pipe. It's a whole lot safer anyways. Probably less work too, you won't have to make a bottle thread adapter on a lathe.
This launcher is cool though, hope you don't plan on using this for some insane purpose. (Is that why his face is blacked out?) You might want to try a faster system of firing but is a ball valve works, great.
Someone said a longer barrel. That'll only help if the blade of the harpoon fits in as well or else you only need one to fit the length of the harpoon or you would just be wasting pipe.

The pipe is all 3/4 inch piping. The reason that i blacked out my face is that its a crap picture and i was emabrassed to show the rest of the world it. Your friend has a junkyard!! You are very very lucky. And spudguns are illegal where i live. Very. Also the reason the barrel is short is;
A: for the harpoons length.
B: more spread for the marbles or lead shot.
And the gun is only being used for target and normal destruction. NOTHING else. And no im not a 'raghead', im english/australian.

thats a neat idea for a harpoon gun, i have a similar idea that might work a bit better.. if you ever have the money or the time, try laying out another idea but utilize a piston if you can. they will allow you to get MUCH better range.

i was gonna do a piston but was too eager to shoot stuff. and at 250 psi its gonna get the job done (damage, destroying e.t.c).
I am in NSW, Sydney. I live like a few hundred metres away from the opera huse and harbour bridge so its a bit dodgy firing harpoon guns and my antitank c-10, etc of the balcony!
valve.

Nice gun, the only thing i would do to improve it would be to add a sprinkler valve or a brass solenoid valve. I would really go with the brass solenoid valve...ASCO makes a nice one.Its just like a plastic sprinkler valve..A 3/4" brass ASCO solenoid valve is smaller than a 3/4" plastic sprinkler valve...but it has the same air flow...
You would have to do a little modifing to the valve just like you would have to do to a plastic sprinkler valve..but its not hard..

@nivekatoz: Nice to see you're interested, but this topic has a gap of well over a year between your post and the one before it.
Normally, unless you have something blindingly important to say that has not already been said, and you know the member involved is still present, it is frowned upon to dig up topics after this long, because it can confuse other members as to the chronological order of things.
However, as you are new, this can be forgiven the first time, but it's not a good habit to get into.

I'm not sure why the forum can't support "dead" topics being kicked up when it can support the forum police who love to leap on people who kick a topic up. How is that different? 90% of the "new" stuff on here is just the same old stuff made by different people.
