I'm scared... I've been using this pipe that says dwv on it but it's already on my old gun which has been pressurized over 120 psi numerous times... is it ok to be using?

Well i'd be inclined to trust that it is pressure rated for the fact it has "PR 330 PSI"

The dwv part is probaly included so that people who have no idea about pipe, and have been told to get "DWV" for there drainage purposes, dont go "argh i cant use that it's not for drain waste vent"

Hahahaha. I've seen this happen before. It's the same people who go in a hardware store looking for a left handed hammer or an open-bottom bucket.

Yes it is, i think the 'DWV' is there so people know it can be used for that purpose if desired.

Come on, fellas. You guys are on a spudgun forum and the main item used is PVC. Don't give the guy false information.

Gun Freak: Is this the chamber or the barrel? If it is the barrel, there is nothing you have to worry with. If it is the chamber, well it is rated to 330 psi, but that is for water and not for compressed air. My rule of thumb is to never take compressed air pressure to the halfway point of rated water pressure. And, half of 330 is 165, so you are still good, and to be honest, I've never taken any PVC past 120 psi.

Now, if it is concerning and you want to change it, look for NSF-PW. It has a higher rating than the dwv pipe and is generally better accepted to hold pressure.

This is an often asked newbie question. All pvc pipe (or any pipe for that matter) is suitable for use in DWV applications. Pressure rated, non-pressure rated cell core etc., are generally labeled DWV.

Even with the PWS rating PVC pipe generally still has the DWV label.

The DWV is on there because the pipe is suitable for that purpose. It doesn't mean that that is all the pipe is suitable for.

Bottom line, the presence of "DWV" on a piece of pipe means absolutely nothing to a spudder. It is neither good nor bad. It is completely irrelevant.

It is a coaxial air chamber... I wasn't planning on going past 120 or 130 psi. As long as its ok to use...

As long as it's not cellular core, and it doesn't look like it is because it lacks black labeling and a NOT FOR PRESSURE label, then it looks completely safe to use/continue using. How long have you been using the old gun?

Over a month. Probably around 50-75 shots.
