Hi
My english is not very good, so I put it short..
I need some good ideas what to build..
I have been thinking semiauto paintball gun or some kind of arrow shooting system (Im bowhunter so I have good arrows and knowledge)..
problem is that for semiauto gun I don't really need those valves, but I want to use those, because I have them laying around.
I have been building spudguns for 7years, so I know spudgun basics and little bit more
valves that i have
- 1/4", 4/2 solenoid valve 24v..i have ten of those !
- 1/2", 5/2 solenoid valve 24v
- 1" solenoid Diaphragm valve (saddle style, its like qev, but solenoid) 24v ..
- 3/4" solenoid Diaphragm valve (saddle style) 24v
- Fairchild, High precision pressure regulator 1/4" ..three of those
all valves have alumium body and working pressure of 8-10bar.
-Any ideas what to build

Wow
Nice valves you got there ... How have you got to get them?
For a semi auto you would need the only valve that you dont have, a three way valve connected to a qev.
You should think about modding all your solenoid valves to enable them to use npt threads like 1/4 inch to put a better pilot valve then the solenoid.

Thanks, I got those valves and many fittings from paper factory that was closed and demolished.. all those valves and fittings cost me 60euros
And I don't want to modify those valves, if I need more power I will make pistonvalve.. those solenoid valves are very rare in finland so I want to save them if I need those for something

this is off topic but what does the 4/2 and 5/2 thing mean?
since i don't know what the 4/2 and 5/2 means i cant help, but if any of them act like 3 way valves then you can connect it to a qev like
this

4/2 and 5/2 means that if your valve is 4/2 the valve has 2 positions and 4 ports.. 5/2 then valve has 2 positions and 5 ports.. 4/2 valve can be used as 3way valve if you plug one port, and yes it can be used to control qev.
that semiauto mk-iii is very cool and I have been thinking to make one like that, but its littlebit too simple for my valves, I want something very innovative and new

It depends on you tools.
If you have a metal lathe and mill try making a paintball gun (even tough the internals are the same as a 3 way valve + qev ...)
If you REALLY want to make something awesome, try this :
And again... it looks like a 3 way + qev valve ....

you don't necessarily need a 3-way valve to make a semi auto, you could have a continuous air input, if the flow wasn't too high then you wouldn't waste a significant amount of air or have trouble closing the piston.
I first off you ought to constructing a regulated air supply with one of those regulators
you could seal off one of the ports in the 5/4 or 4/2 valve to make a 3way for a semi

Take a look here for inspiration as well:
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/silent- ... 19729.html
A silent way of launching arrows with an aircannon..
You really should think about modifying that 1" valve and using the 4/2 as a 3-way.
The combination has never been done and you have all the parts!

I don't think that a modded solenoid valve works well when filled from the pilot, when I do it with sprinkler valves the fill rates are a bit slow, it would be better to make a decent piston valve
you could try a semi auto with the bolt moved by a cylinder, attached to the chamber, but to use the extra port you could use a double acting cylinder and connect the extra port to the cylinder return

, too bad paintball tank combat is one of the worlds biggest disappointments, size and epicness of the tank doesn't make it stronger, 2mph speed limits, the inability get people behind bunkers, in the end it's looks a lot like this
anyways that gun looks like it uses a timing circuit at least to control the cycling of the cartridges since there are so many steps; the gun fires, the barrel slides forward, the cartridge ejectors eject, the ejectors retract, the barrel slides back. using a more passive cartridge ejecting design you could eliminate several control valves and cylinders

Not to mention that he said the computer controler for it cost about $1000
You can build a simple timer circuit for WAY less than that. possibly for around $20
I have no idea why retards will spend $1000 for a system a $20 PIC would handle just fine.

$1000 wat dat fu ngahh whaaaaaaa, that's the cost of a high end computer, how is that possible, that can't be right, for that money you could use an old laptop to control it, that's just wrong on so many levels
