Fire Extinguisher valve....

Hello! I'm REALLY new to SPUD gun, but also really want to build one... I'd like to build a pneumatic one (just for fun), and thinking about a valve (writing from Italy...sprinkler are really different here), I could get a working fire extinguisher valve...could it be used for SPUD purposes? It should be FAR better than a plastic one... or is there something that prevent that use?

I don't know much about them but I think they have very little flow. Only a small caliber like .5" or smaller would get decent power. Still, I don't know much about them...

Use a ball valve instead. Even plastic would be better

Can you purchase any other kinds of solenoid valves where you live? If not you can always make a piston valve if you feeling really creative. With whatever you make i hope to see it on spudfiles.

welcome to spudfiles :D

Try searching for "valvola di scarico rapido" And get one If you can. If not then search around and look at the piston valves and make one that suits your needs. If building small bore and you can't find fittings, then you can substitute for epoxy. Also benvenuti a spudfiles!
Yeah, it's that important.

I made a small gun once using the valve of a fire extinguisher.... performance sucked, don't waste your time with this type of valve

Ahh jack always the one to catch a simple translingual (is that a word?) grammar mistake and have a good laugh :D .

@Bersa I am not sure if those will work but you could always try. They look like odd sprinkler valves.

Ok! Just to cut off everything :D ... can you help me deciding between orbit 57020 and 57211... I would like to try the 25mm form instructables, with a no drill mod... which one is better? why? differences?

Thanks!

Perdonami, e difficile non confondere l'italiano quando si parla piu frequentemente spagnolo

As to the valves, I would think that both models can be modified in the same manner, so go for the cheapest one :)

Grazie mille! Adesso basta trovarla qui in Italia (anche se mi sa che sarà più facile via web!).

Thank you so much! Now I just need to find one of them here, but probably it would be easier to buy it on the web!

I'm sure thatthese can also be modded, it's just a question of replacing the solenoid with a blowgun.
