does festo make QEVs

i just found out that there is a festo about 5 min walk for my house and tryed goggling them but can acsses there web site to find out if they have QEVS that i can use.

can any you please

the one im am looking at is at

Tell them its is for pnumatic control in air cylinders, that is what they are designed for.

Haha, yeah, my excuse everytime i go to bunnings is: "I'm making a pneumatic hand which has the power to crush an empty coke can..."

And i usually get the response " Wow!, well you will have to bring it in and show us one day..."

I went into home depot one day and i had a few fitting laied out on a table in the plumbing asile and the guy came up to me and said "so what are you building now, or do I even want to know?"

Just say that you need a QEV with high flow.
Im postive that they make QEV's. Im just not sure if it are high flow ones.

Sure they do... I just posted a link to the datasheet of the two models that they offer

It seems their flow is a bit lower when compared with the more common type of QEVs

I am almost sure that the flow was measured using the same method, that is:
Nominal flow Qn at 6 bar and Δp = 1 bar

I know for a fact they make them, but I've only seen the diaphragm type.

I also expect they don't even have a shop there.
The head office is...well...an office.

In Europe Fetso only sells through resellers..

thanks guys ill go there next monday. called up and just said i need it for a science project, they ask to talk to my teacher :( . luckily my brothers a physics teacher and he told them that we need to test the force required to crush a coke can :D

i tryed there site but it wont load for me that pdf you linked work but not the site

would you guys trust the Die-cast aluminium at 300psi?

hopefully this time i get it not like the ebay one never come

I have seen reports by radio-controlled-boat-builders...don't know what else to call them, those guys that build bb guns on 'em ( for modelboat "wars") keep breaking festo QEVs at around 16 bar and up.

So keep it below 200 psi.The diaphragm ruptures.

They are high quality, very sensitive, but compared to our standards, fragile.
Not meant to be abused for "science".

Did I mention they tend to be pricey?

heh quite possible... most of their stuff is rated to 8 or 10 bar max... it's perfectly ok with most users since industrial pneumatic systems rarely use more than 10 bar
