Research and Development
It would be nice to see one with lower gearing, maybe trading power for a higher rate of fire. As it is, it's more like a
Browning Airstar than a "proper" automatic electric gun.

I like the very last high speed clip in the MythBusters video. I have not seen a car pancake that flat in a drop before. Wow. That had good speed to do that. Reminds me of pancaking pop cans..

I see they follow a similar principle to you: "Can't see a reason why it won't work, so I'm just going to build it."
Of course, they didn't then find a reason why it'd turn into the incredible farting machine (version #87.2.6b) - but to be fair, I've seen them cock up pretty badly other times.
