automated, semi auto combustion.

i just had the idea to make an automated combustion gun. you could hook a sprinkler valve up to the propane tank that injects into the gun. you will need to figure out aproxamently how long the valve needs to stay open to inject the right amount of propane in the chamber because it would get really complicated and take two sprinkler valves to measure the pressure in a small space and release for this to work. Now hook this up to an electronic timer so it will open for a set amount of time, then close. Next just hook the stun gun igniton up to a timer and time the two together so once it injects for the amount of time the valve closes then the stun gun is triggered and repeat. If you put a clip on your gun it would be semi auto and automated.
of course it would take alot of brains in electronics and some money but hey its just an idea.

You would still need to vent it. Look up the Backpack TBL, he built his with electronic parts, he ended up melting his fan after so many shots.

I think you should take apart every step you mentioned, draw it out in paint program with all the details, each sentance a different named drawing, like 1st drawing being injection system, next being 2nd valveing system untill you come up with a complete blue print no matter how many pages/drawings it is, but only save the completed good ones, then post this idea, and use foot notes inside text blocks located at the bottem explaining the drawing in detail. If you go through the pains and woh's of working that out, i bet someone will build it if you don't have the money or time!

dang atlantis is right though. ventilation is a problem. i guess you could put a timer on the fan but that would get complicated with the timings of all the other stuff. plus you need to open the chamber to vent right? ehh this would be harder that i thought.

lol, if you only know what has been going on behind the scenes... Although the idea of electronic valving and metering is being used for auto, rather the semi. There currently is 4 in the process of being made by owners that will not be mentioned. For venting there is a better solution then forced air venting. Also a sprinkler wouldnt be suggested for large volume and the fact it will a shitty job at activating at low pressures. As I understand the guns of this design take a rather large budget, a rumored 300$.

Atlantis, I think you are talking about the CBPL or <a href="
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... 5&">Proton Pack</a> as I call it now. The <a href="
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/dload.p ... d=38&">fan meltage</a> came from the extreme heat of shooting golf balls at about 30 rounds per minute (about one every 2 seconds).
Djt, I wouldn't suggest trying an auto if you don't know a lot about spud guns. It can not only be extremely faulty, but dangerous too. Recently at the shootout in KY the Proton Pack underwent heavy useage at a driving range and began to overheat and caught fire in the chamber for long periods of time and was actually fed by the ventilation system.
Just to let you know, sprinkler valves are horrible for metering. What you want is a 24v 3-way solenoid valve. For venting you need an air blower like the ones for inflating air matresses.

dont worry i wasnt planning on trying one anyway. just makign a suggestion and seeing what people had to say. appearently its been done before.

If you need a way to make a timer just do the following...
Make a few wheels with non-conductive material, for each part there will be 2 wires coming from the part, the wheel will have the outside rim partially covered by metal, when the metal is in contact with the wires that part will be on.
Just adjust the length of the metal sections for the timing part.
Basically it would be an electric cam-shaft.
Hope that makes sense.

Do not EVER meter using a wheel and a sprinkler valve. That would never be even remotely reliable.
You guys are up for one of my <a href="

I didn't say use the whell for the metering, I know how unreliable that would be. You could use my idea for the rest of the parts though.

Could this be in the running to? It is all ducttaped and glued together lol
