Whats the easiest way to peel a golf ball? Right now I'm using a hand saw, and due to lack of a vice grip, my hand. Ironically I got hurt by the screwdriver, slight scratch. I need a faster and safer way to do this. Does anybody have any ideas?

a golf ball is tricky to cut, well what do you exactly mean by "peeling" the golf ball? its just a phase im unfamiliar with. if you can specify what that exactly means i could probably figure a way to help you out.

if you meen to take of the outer layer use a crappy knife and cut down in a circular patern to take large rings out at a time. it pretty fast taking only about 1 and a half min. to make

the core of a golf ball is said to fit in 1 1/4" pipe, so peel the shell and get the core.

By peeling I mean removing the outer shell.

Right now I cut a ring around the middle and spilt it open with a screwdriver.

The core fits perfectly in 1.5" pipe.

I usally hate posts like this, but if you give my dog a GB it will have the shell off in ~1 minute. OR you can just get some SDR-21...

Unfortunately my dog is only a month old, her mout isn't even big enough yet. Getting SDR Pipe is easy, finding the Sch80 Sleeve is the hard part. I figured, since I already have a 1.5" barrel and a few 1.5" tees, I should just make ammo for it.

Use a table saw for the easiest and fastest way. You can adjust how much the blade pokes out making it quite easy.

I'd rather buy some 2" sch 80 for $1.50 per foot from Pimpmann22 like I always do.

Edit: I literally just hit a golf ball with my mower and split it open. Hahah! There's your mass production right there!

I ironically just mowed my neighbor's lawn. I thought of a table saw but didn't think of lowering the blade. Does the blade on a table saw go as low as the shell's thickness? 1mm or so.

use a belt sander,or a table mounted belt sander.or a lathe

Yes, table saws are made to retract all the way into the table. This is bad though for the fact that you will start actually using it as a table with a convenient saw built into it. So yeah, you can keep the blade low enough to just take off the shell of the ball.

How would a belt sander do the job? Thanks for the help, but I think I will just make a GB barrel.
