i want to make a airgun which doesnt dump all the air at once but allows for multiple shots, and want to use a quick exhaust valve (piston valve) like this one:

if anybody has any ideas how this could be achieved, and with a explanation, it would be much appreciated.
thanks

Use the search function. What you're planning has been done before on this forum.

Hammer valve + qev = multi shot, but not semi. for this case you could just separate the chamber with a ball valve :)

Or go with a sleeve valve.THat would be the easy route to semi-auto.

Or...you could have a gas ram recock the hammer and load another round...But that would.. ..be....my ...next project???

exactly what I'm doing following a failed attempt at constructing a piston valve filled from chamber side :/
have a look at this:
the T fitting houses a homemade piston valve that is reseated by a spring as seen in this video:
each time cracks the ball valve it filles a relatively small chamber, allowing for about eight powerful bb shots at 120 psi. copy his layout, replacing the homemade valve with a qev and the chamber with something pressure safe and you're good to go.
