For my Physics project we need to build something that will launch something 100 yards. So I decided to build a spud gun. My dad and I built it out of ABS and i was wondering is ABS good enough? Will the ABS withstand the pressure? It is a combustion cannon, the chamber is 3" and the barrel is 1.5". Its coextruded ABS celluar core DWV SCH40 pipe. So if you know anything about this please help me it would be very appreciated. By the way im a senior in High School so thats why i need this. Thank You.

ST, are you serious? ABS is more then ok for combustions. I have a ABS gun that I have seriously shoot thousands of times...

edyo, a potato gun will launch a potato past a 100yds. Why not a BB gun then???

A BB gun 100 yards??? How could you tell if it went 100 yards??

i use abs but mine doesnt say cell core on it

and honestly i think they would have put cell core on it if it was

Pimp, ABS by itself is OK but Cellular core is cuttin it a bit close.

Edyo, I'd go out and find some PVC or ABS with a decent pressure rating on it. Take the gun you have now and have as much fun you can with it and a cement patio.

lol, that is what I did to my old cannon, but then I had to get a wrie brush and clean my patio because there was black marks all over it

thanks guys, i made a new gun with a steel combustion chamber and a pvc barrel. the ignitor is a lantern ignitor. it works though! and thanks again guys
