Can bent schraders withstand pressure?

Will a bent schrader still withstand pressure? I can't find any info on google or on spudfiles on this topic.

My design pressure is 200psi or so, including safety margins.

Given the small diameter and relatively thick wall, I'll wager 200 psi is less than 10% of the maximum pressure required to burst it.

No, manually bending the schrader.

Actually its simply that the back of my piston cap isn't big enough for the pilot and schrader. I already found another way out as for now - drill an oblique hole for the schrader so it goes in obliquely. A bend would be useful though :)

I wouldn't do it. Bending metal without heat stresses it. Using heat would destroy the rubber internals of the valve.

Is it possible to simpluy fill through the pilot? if not, is there another place for your fill valve?

You may be able to shorten the valve. Look where the valve core inside ends and cut the excess tube off. Be sure the end of the valve core can still move freely without hitting anything inside.

Or... you could just screw them out, apply heat, bend, then re-attach them ;)

You may crush the (internal) threads which will mess with sealing.

So remove the stem, replace it with that old stem which doesn't seal anymore because you tried to cut it down to use as a hammer valve and ruined it (we all have one!) while bending to preserve the threads, and when you're done bending, put back the proper stem ;)
