I'm snowed in and bored out of my mind so I thought I may as well post my new project.

Caliber: .50 cal (type K copper)
Ammo: lead musket-ball with a brass tail for stability
Stock: hand carved hardwood stock with a cherry penetrating oil finish
Magazine: Aluminum construction box magazine
Magazine capacity: 9 with normal magazine, ~ 20 with the extended magazine
Scope: Redhead 4x32 rimfire scope
Valve: 1/2" European style QEV
Pilot: 1/4" direct acting 24 volt 3-way valve
Air reservoir: 1 1/2" steel conduit
Receiver: Cast epoxy block
Action: long stroke gas piston with locking mechanism

Unfortunately I do not have access to the cannon right now but when the snow melts I will be able to post some pictures.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the 555 circuit that allows 3-shot burst and full-auto is being problematic so its only semi-auto right now.

Sounds like one heck of a build. Can't wait to see pictures of that hand carved stock. Seems like this is a crowd pleaser of a project.

I'd be wary about that scope though. I bought a similar scope by the same brand and it's a total piece of junk. Doesn't stay true and slides all over the place. I'm not trying to presume that I know how your scope handles.

Good luck figuring out that 555 circuit.

The scope was free because it's lateral adjustment does not work so I expect little in the way of accuracy. Also the stock is based on the WA2000 so that's what you can expect.

The action is similar to BtB's but with some modifications to allow it to work with cylindrical ammo.

so do you use cartridges to protect the tails?

no cartridges. The way I attach the ball to the tail supports the inside of the brass.

Well I disassembled it momentarily so I thought I would take some pic for you guys.
This is the trigger assembly sans switch. As you can see the paint has been scratched some so i will have to switch to a more resilient paint. This entire assembly is 1/8" thick aluminum.

I can't wait to see the full construction. I get the feeling that you're getting some sick pleasure out of teasing us with pics of it's components.

cant you just take one picture of all the parts you got together?

It is not together anymore and there is no point putting it back together just to take apart again because the electronics are being worked on.

I was originally planning for a thumbhole stock but got a little generous with the router when cutting out a battery compartment.
