what would be the best way to make an inline hammer valve? i was thinking liek the internals on a shardaer valve

Take a look at the internals of a blowgun. This is almost exactly what you're looking for. Larger porting and a stiffer return spring and voila, you have an inline hammer valve. The blowgun could be left unmodified as well, but performance would be slightly lacking depending on the projectile size.

Or look at nelson valved paintball guns, those are inline also. I also saw some guy made one by removing the balls from a quick disconnect.
