A little social experiment

Just some idea I had the last time I made a run to home depot.

What you need:
1. A permanent marker
2. Your local hardware store

I'd be curious to see if any new members or lurkers show up because of this. Probably not likely unless we all start doing it. Maybe is would be better to make a sticker or spray paint-stencil. I imagine it'll get cleaned off eventually.

when ever I'm walking down the plumbing isle and there are other people looking for strange fittings I'm always tempted to ask them if the are intending to make a spudgun. The only problem is if they're not I look like a freak.

Another thing is like when you see people having trouble finding out what fitting they need and you know exactly what to tell them... but it would be wierd for a 14-15 year old kid to tell somebody how to do plumbing lol

Haha, nice Gun freak... Whats scary is when I walk down the isle, and I know more than the guy who is helping me find the items I need... One guy said it was impossible to make a pneumatic cannon or to find a push button valve, well, I told him... 14 years old, and I found the push button valve... (it was a blowgun, but you still push it to make air come out..)

Perhaps simply "drop" a few cards with spudfiles.com in amongst some fittings.

That way you aren't tagging nor are you defiling the store or it's property.

We can make a home depot thread and all say when we are going and to which one. Doesnt that sound like fun?

Even better than Moonbogg's suggestion is if we could come up with a map of all Spudfiles users, we could actually find out if we live near one another. But a listing of which hardware stores we visit would be fun too!

there is a map... but I don't think anyone has used it in quite awhile.. Maybe an update of that map would be a good idea..
