Wow, good luck with it! I would love to see some pictures! For a first air rifle, that may be kind of difficult, but even so, have fun with it!

haha yeah, getting tools and materials is harder than i thought too as i am currently at uni and most of my equipment is at home.
so far im making do with some brass plumbing parts and some steel pipe.

i have been playing round making the valve first, and its not overly complicated, i think it will be hard to make 100% air tight though.

do you want it to look like that or shoot semi auto like it?

shoot semi auto, im not overly concerned about the looks.
i will probably just make a traditional wooden stock for it

hammer valve ? could build one of those, or piston which are probly easier, then get a regulator ? would be pretty hard for a first gun but as long as you know what your doing youll be alrite

@ Link=UN= - the trigger is made from perspex that i found scrap in the school bin. For the striker i made it from a metal pipe, Here is an image of all the parts i used to make the hammer part:
Image

The little piece of wood with holes in it is my end cap and the Gray thing with a phillips head screw on it is the striker

id go for metal because if your not happy with the power you can crank the pressure up
