No need to start another thread, you could have used the button to fix your original post.

Anyways, the diagram you posted will not work, because 9 volts is not enough to jump a spark gap. You need coils that will up the voltage, as in a camera flash circuit.

If you used a proper hot wire for ignition such as a model airplane glow plug, the circuit would function. The voltage would need to be changed as glow plugs use 1.5 volts.

on/off switch and batteries, yes.

A hot wire is simply a piece of wire which gets hot when you run a current through it, usually nichrome wire which offers high resistance and doesn't melt or oxidise.

Don't make things more difficult than they need to be. Get a BBQ piezo for $10~$15. Or a long handled fireplace lighter for ~$5.

$2.15 for one of those long-nosed igniters at the dollar store. They work quite well in standard combustions and low-mix hybrids.

One worked fine for me. I broke off the tip and pulled the wires and attached them to a pair of electrodes in the chamber. It worked on my very first try.

Risking breaking rule #1... um a wire that is not cold. This is bad in an extension cord and causes ignition of homes. This is good in electric hair dryers and makes the air warm. You can get a piece of the wire from a broken hair dryer to use for ignition. A short piece and a proper high current battery will work well. The length will need adjusted to match your voltage source so it heats properly.

Multi spark ignition will simply require a higher voltage source such as a stun gun or a multi burner BBQ grill igniter.

i thought of that too.. but i live in a little country called Danmark and there they simply dont have that sort of BBQ igniters
