SPECS:
3" double detachable chamber,12" inch and 24" inch
3/4" inch pvc valve for safety, traveling, and bike pump filling
1" inch modified rainbird sprinkler valve with ball valve safety
200 p.s.i air gauge
schrader filling valves
28" inch X 1" inch barrel
All pvc and fittings are schedule 40

I have been working on this cannon for about 3 weeks now. When I first started, everything was going good, until I got around to modding the sprinkler valve. I had the wrong one. It was a rainbird 1 inch cpf 100 rather than the normal cp 100. The difference was flow control. I tried everything under the sun to get this valve to work, including throwing it against the wall a few times and swearing at it numerous times! I finally broke down and got the right valve and put it together today!
The first time I shot it, I was like holy f#$%ing s#%t!!! I got well over 200 yards with just a potato. It has a pretty good bang to it as well. I have brought it up to about 110 p.s.i because thats all I can get outta my compressor. I want to try to double that in the future. I have to re-paint it still and put a few more finishing touches. Please let me know what you think for a noob!! I will try to post some damage pics soon and when I make a few more different size barrels. Hope you like it!![img]

I have a suggestion... Don't double 110 psi in a PVC cannon especially with a sprinkler valve on it. 220 psi is just over the limit.

Nice effort for a first cannon, one thing though, your chamber is far too big. I'm sure you could make it half the size and you will not see a difference in power, but it will make it easier to pump up and quieter too. You might have to change the name to "Blue Distant Thunder" ;)

I dont get it, "blue distant thunder??" could you elaborate? Also the chamber is interchangeable, there are 2 in one if you looked at the pics and descriptions. I first started with the smaller 12 inch one, but it didnt have poop for power, which is why I added the 2nd one on. Any other suggestions to make it better? And thank you for commenting!

Ah, I hadn't noticed the two part chamber. Nice.

I mean "distant thunder" as in it would be quieter, so no longer actually "thunder".

If you crop photos to a smallish size to meet the filesize limits of Spudfiles, you can edit a post and add photos by using the add file button below.

It doesn't suck, the showcase submission is just somewhat incomplete. No pictures, videos, GGDT simulations... etc.

Today I put a 1 inch super marble through my neighbors fence measured 40 feet away. I did this at 80 psi with a 1 inch barrel with said cannon blue thunder. It blew a chunk of the piket right off!!

with my neighbors permission of course!!!
