I have another air cannon, im using the sprinkler valve with it , But I am not getting good results, my small cannon works better,

Any ideas what i should do to my bigger cannon for better results?

Cut the chamber down? PLEASE HELP
Ill get pics up , hopefully tomorrow

Also should I put the specs up to hopefully help to figure out my problem?

here are the pics

specs:

4 ft chamber
53 3/4 inch barrel
I didnt know what i was think when i made the barrel,
Pressure gauge broke, in the process of getting another one, and im taking out tha back part and put a schrader valve and pressure gauge into the cap. Just gotta install that .

Anything else need let me know

anyway, cutting the camber will make it weaker so, no don't do that.

Have you moded the valve? if so how big is the pilot volume?.
only other thing really is longer barrel and more pressure.

@ Crna Yes the valve is modded,

When you mean pilot volume, Do you mean chamber size?

If you look at my other thread, with (My Air cannon its the same sprinkler valve)

OK Since pics are needed they will be up, asap

nope i mean pilot volume, aka the volume in between the piston/diaphragm and pilot valve.

jesse, is your cannon still leaking?? first thing u gotta do is get it as air tight as possible. teflon tape, pipe dope, jb weld, and epoxy are your friends!!! by the looks of the cannon, you should have decent results once its air tight and no leaky leaky!!!! and when you use teflon tape, get the yellow kind for gas. its alot thicker, and in my opinion, it works a whole lot better than the regular!! talk to you soon. we will get this puppy going!!! 8) 8)
also, if you cap it, get a good cap thats rated and has nsf pw on it and is at least schedule 40. for a cap this is very important dude!!

A smaller chamber won't help. With that big chamber, I think you will see better results by using a longer barrel. Sprinkler valves don't have great flow and typically aren't the way to go when constructing large cannons. When you get up in size, you pretty much need to step up to a better valve like a piston valve.

Yes because that reducer isn't even pressure rated anyway and you can make it more compact by using a coupling, then bushings until it gets to the size of the steel.

Cut where the reducer starts, then put the coupling on the end of that.

he has a bell reducher on each end, so he needs a bushing on one end and a rated cap on the other end. it almost looks like the barrel is going through the whole chamber, but it isnt
