HPA triggered burst-disk gun

I've had a pressure washer for a while, but I was just recently inspired by a thread on HPA launchers to build a gun to make use of all the pressure I have access to.

I first made a low pressure one with a FE firing tank, 1" cam-lock, and firing at about 40-60psi

But I have enough low pressure launchers, so I decided to up the pressure and decrease the chamber and valve size.
What I got is one hell a a launcher for such a small package

I run at 800 psi and GGDT says (indirectly through saefroch) that I could put a Golfball 200m with only an 9" barrel

Hope ya like it, it's nothing new, but I think it's still cool

Really nice :thumbright:
I have thought something like this before too, but I didn“t enjoy the burst-disk, because you have to put a new one everytime you shot:x
So, have you though about using a air-tight detente to replace the disc? and you could also add a magazine, maybe you could have a very powerful semi-auto cannon

Couldn't you just use your piston hybrid for this? I mean, fill the pilot of your hybrid to whatever pressure, then fill the chamber with your pressure washer. Wouldn't it work just the same as your hybrid? I'm not saying use the same gun, but a piston hybrid valve could work for the same purpose right?

Anyhow, I think this launcher is sick, very sleek and compact, powerful, I like it! Nice job! (as always  :D )

Thanks wyz, I had a a detent system, but it gave me no range of ammo and I didn't like only being limited to 3/8" BBs. The burst-disk is easily replaced because I have multiple male ends that I can prepare to get some consecutive shots

EDIT, just saw gunfreak's post:
It would, an it'd be worth trying once my damned valve seals correctly. And if I'm charging that bulky thing, I might as well throw some fuel in to make it much more powerful as a true hybrid

I might give it a go, since I just got a fridge compressor...

Burst disks are definitely worth playing with, just a tip if you want to have a trigger: there's usually a long delay with low flow, even at high pressure. So I "precharge" the chamber to about 600psi, so that it only takes a tap of the trigger to fire

Good idea, I was wondering how much air is wasted after each shot.

Have you tired to make some air-tight detentes? you can make them to fit any smooth suffice ammo
Gun freak: a fridge compressor is not perfect, to charge a 0.5l tank to 1000 psi take a hell of time  , and you have to let it cool down every 3-5 min

Detents end up being moretrouble for me, even if I could get a consistent 800psi detent, I still wouldn't be able to use all different types of ammo

Again, nicely done.

I had tried my 3/4" hybrid as a burst disk HPA pneumatic and was quite unimpressed with the power, but then again I was comparing it to a 10x mix so it's a little unfair - but for those who want a high performance pneumatic without having to worry about fuelling and ignition, this is definitely a cheap and easy way to go about it.

I could easily convert it to a hybrid, but I'd really rather keep it a pure pneumatic for the time being. It already launches 1" projectiles faster then I an see
