I am working on a high pressure pneumatic and was curious is pressure washer handles would work for a pilot, they are rated in the 1000s of psi and are usually a nice ergonomic grip. Not to mention a much simpler alternative to making my own, I prefer to use readily available materials rather than custom part when possible.

They've been used a few times mate, just bear in mind they might leak a bit, water seals aren't always perfectly airtight.

Awesome, leaks I can probably deal with. Do you have a better suggestion for a pilot for something in the 3000 or so psi range? I am trying to get an unreggulated HPA shooter together but there have been several issues in the process. Wrong fittings shipped, regulator broke in shipping, etc. I'm just trying to get it finished as simple as possible, all this drama and I haven't even gotten to put it together yet.

There's paintball slide valves and ball valves, not much else around.

What Zeus said.

You're quite limited in your choice of valves at such high pressures, because valves that use the chamber pressure to hold the seal shut (like a blowgun) become absurdly difficult to use at high pressure.

In one of my builds, I used brass 1/4" ball valves at ~1,000psi, but one of them began to suffer a leak after a bunch of cycles. They were only rated to 450 psi, so make of that what you will.
