Help a newbie out with the Instructables 25 mm air rifle?

Hello everyone!
School's out and I've been thinking about building a spudgun for quite a while now. However, I have a couple of newbie questions that I haven't found an answer for and I hope you guys can help me out. The only experience I have with DIY'ing is that time I made a piece of toast.

But anyways,

I am a bit confused as to how the quick disconnect is threaded into the barrel. All the quick disconnects I have seen don't have the exposed threads sticking out of the end like the author does. eg.http://www.amazon.com/Milton-715BK-Styl ... ck+connect

Anyone have a clue as to what I should be looking for for this component?

Also, would this sprinkler be suitable for the project?

And lastly, my ultimate newb question... How would I power this? They list the power source simply as compressed air, and I am nor sure that the schrader valve on my track pump would fit the quick connect. Is there any suitable coupler I can stick onto the bike pump to make it work with this?
Would something like this fit? http://www.amazon.com/Dixon-DCP21B-Inte ... nect+1%2F4

Terribly sorry for being unfamiliar with all this. Thanks, guys.

If you're charging it with a track pump, just buy this directly instead of the quick connect:

Also, would this sprinkler be suitable for the project?

Should be.
