Extremely fascinating work really - The design and execution of the piezo anvil style fuze was very well done. Not 100% sure if it's shown in the youtube video but thier PDF file on patreon breaks down how they harvested the piezo components from a common clicky type ignitor. Architecting all the electrical paths for the spark to travel in the 3D printed shell was really interesting to see as well.
The design is probably commonplace in infographics across the web - but a good patent on the design below:
https://patents.google.com/patent/US4026214A/en

I haven't done 3D printing work in about 5 years now, I used to be very into it in an end-to-end perspective from end part design, infill algorithms, and 3D printer design, firmware and slicer hacking. I'm not sure what printer he's using but the quality is amazing. A quick glance into current printers that would be capable of the volume for parts he's making in some of his projects shows the Crealty Ender 5 series - using CoreXY gantry design commonly now! Back in my days (shakes cane) aka 10 years ago when I was in NYC and jumping around the 3D printer hacker spaces that gantry architecture was just emerging in the cartesian realm.

And finally it's just extremely intriguing - this youtube channel owner may be a 1-off but if it's indicative of the new generations means of acquiring and utilizing the ever increasing wealth of information on the web, chat platforms (discord, telegram, others) and the reality that this new generation is fully integrated digitally (from the time their parents allow them to be) - well then we are going to see some amazing new work thanks to the ability to share information and print it out to rapidly iterate on design in a totally decentralized manner. I'm sure other niche hobbies have already seen this - just stepping over to our powder powered friends - reddit's r/fosscad represents a community leveraging this same mentality.

I'm probably behind the times - but this is all really cool. I'm closer than I ever have been in life to getting property to be able to enjoy this hobby on again. Having bounced around from living in some of the most densely populated areas of the US and now living in a state that is approaching one of the most aggressive weapon ban laws - I just need me some land to enjoy homemade accelerators again.
