What pressure are 3/8"galvinized steel fittings and pipe you get at home depot rated to. in a micro hybrid can i use it with a 5x or 6x mix?
Also what pressure would a 6 x mix create. and can i use a female air quick disconnect to fill the chamber with the propane mix or do i need a ball valve

Oh, I'd estimated the pressure produced from a 6x mix at maybe 500 psi.
The pipe in question should be rated to about 2,500 psi, at a rough estimation.

ok thankyou. what should i use for the burst disk. i think i can use soda olastic beause it only needs to hold ~100 psi of mix before ignition

Or alluminium foil, look at the burst disk thread on spudtech.

An interesting question would be: which way is best to mount the union?
With the "sharp edge" pointing towards the pressure source, or away?

Personaly, I'd go with it pointing towards. In my personal experience (with HDPE), it tends to cut the disk, which should allow some very nice flow.
Pressure is reduced, but you can alwayse get a thicker disk...

(Note that this situation does not hold true if there is a liquid resting on top of the disk. In that case, the tear only makes it about 1/2 of the away around in my - unconventional - experience.
